Customer required a network monitoring tool, which could provide information and a centralised overview of flow of data and protocols used in their global MPLS network.

The chosen application was NetQoS, which works by SNMP enabling select devices and implementing a a central server which collect SNMP information.

Project was taken over, after the NetQoS server had been implemented, meaning remaining project activities before close of project was:

  • SNMP enabling 150+ endpoints
  • Structuring and normalising collected data
  • Build of reports
  • Education of end users

A project time plan was drafted and initiated to ensure a timely implementation of project scope, which ensured that the project closed successfully with enabling of SNMP in approx. 140 offices / 150+ devices.

After project closure the consultant continued as Application Manager for almost 1½ year, managing 2 assigned FTEs.
